The Early Voting period for the 2023 Municipal Elections begins on Thursday, October 19, 2023, and ends on Saturday, November 4, 2023. 

Registered voters residing in Rowan County or eligible individuals may cast an absentee ballot in person during this time. This period is sometimes called “one-stop early voting.”

SPECIFIC EARLY VOTING DATES AND TIMES will be determined by the Rowan County Board of Elections during their September meeting.

During early voting, voters may cast a ballot at any early voting site in their county, and voters needing to register may same-day register and vote. This is different from Election Day, where registered voters must vote only at their assigned polling place and are not allowed to register on Election Day.

At an early voting site, individuals who are not registered to vote in a county may register and immediately vote at that same site.

This process is called “same-day registration.”
